My troop, Troop 1250, is actually alot like what you said, in some ways. We have a problem were the adults don't consider the scouts to be smart or organized enough to lead their own troop, this happens to lead to a good amount of arguments. I just got Eagle this summer right after coming back from Philmont (and I am proud of my three dollar patch!) but they did not like how I wanted to work on my Eagle so soon after becoming Life, I literally ended my Life board of review saying "I want to get my eagle before my freshman year of high school". I had to fight them all the way because they viewed me as a new scout, because it was only my third year and I look young (5'3" and with freckles, not including my alto voice). Still here I am with my Eagle COH this November 8th.
